This has been a very busy week for many of us, not to say an emotional one as well. As we take a moment to breathe deeply, I want you to know something about you, the body of Christ. For several weeks we have been seeking to better understand the gifts God has so graciously provided to us all (Romans 12:6). I have been witness to how this is developing and I praise God for it!
What gifts have I witnessed you ask? The prominent one is that of service. Members sacrificed time to visit and support someone in great need. Close behind was the gift of encouragement: To watch how many of you did all you could to express words of encouragement to various people challenged by adversity, especially Ana, was simply heartwarming. Then there is mercy giving, a subject we will discuss today. Watching people step outside their comfort zones to minister to people in such a sensitive manner is nothing short of amazing.
By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another. John 13:15
Little do you know, that during this time of service to the church family, especially Ana, I was approached by people asking what church are we from. You see, by your love for those within the church, people took notice and God was glorified. Thank you for being Jesus! Thank you for being His church! Thank you Lord for transforming us into Your image. We ask that You continue to do so, and may our hearts be always humble so change can happen.
