Many people begin the New Year with a new start (a New Year’s resolution). A new goal to be achieved or an old goal to be rekindled that fell by the wayside in years past. Perhaps it is to lose weight, or perhaps it is to get into shape, or perhaps to learn something new. For the Christian we have the opportunity for a new start on the first day of every week. When we partake of the Lords Supper, according to 1 Corinthians 11:23-33, we should be remembering what the Lord has done for us and also examining ourselves. In 2 Corinthians 13:5 Paul says to
“Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified.” NKJV
Every Sunday is a good time for a new start and to get refocused.
