Our theme for 2016 will find its roots in Galatians 6:10, which exhorts us to “do good to all.” We, as God’s chosen people, are called to action, seeking to take advantage of every opportunity to serve mankind, “especially to those who are of the household of faith.” Few of us would argue whether this is our calling, but many of us might not know how we fit into it.
As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another,
as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
1st Peter 4:10
You may remember the above verse from last week’s lesson. Ever wondered what your gift is? God assures us that we all have something to offer and, as your shepherds, our task is to help all of us find out what they (or it) may be. In an effort to help us along, we are going to ask you a HUGE favor; that is, to participate in a spiritual gifts survey. When you fill this survey out, it is important to do the following.
Answer each question honestly.
Don’t over-analyze the questions.
For many of you, you may be saying, “Haven’t we done this before?” Well, we did a few years back. What is different this time? Honestly, it will be the follow-through of the shepherds, coupled with our unified commitment to be “good stewards of the manifold grace of God.”
Join with us as we seek to better understand our spiritual giftedness. Please complete the survey out and bring it back next Sunday. If you have any questions, please reach out to one of the shepherds. Thank you for your help.
